La Costa Beach & Golf Resort **** puts one of the best golf courses in Europe within your reach: Golf de Pals which surrounds the hotel and where our customers can enjoy exclusive price and tee time conditions.
With direct access from the la Costa hotel garden, it is considered one of the most prestigious golf courses in Spain. According to the prestigious magazine Golf World International, in November 2003 it was catalogued as one of the top ten in the whole of Spain.
Opened in 1966, it is the oldest on the Costa Brava and has a typically British design and a par of 73, unique in Catalonia with 5 par five, 9 par four and 4 par three.
With 6,263m from white marks and 5,156m from red marks, the round, created in an immense pine forest facing Pals Beach, is a course capable of exciting all types of players that love this sport, from the least expert to the most experienced. The first holes, which are quite short, with narrow fairways, gentle dog-legs, deep bunkers protecting the greens and ancient pines, surrounding the fairways, require a game of great precision, both in the drive and the approach. From hole 12 on, the holes are longer and more continental. The fairways widen, and greens are larger. Along the entire 3-hazard course, they add diversity to the round.
Throughout its 50-year history, numerous national and European professional tournaments have been held at the Golf de Pals course. The Golf de Pals has been the home of the Professional Golf Association (PGA) Pre-Qualifying School on numerous occasions.
The honours of Golf de Pals include the championships:
1972 - XLVI Open de España.
1978 - XVIII European Golf Junior Team Championship.
1984 - 39º Campeonato de España de Profesionales.
1989 - Open de Cataluña Massimo Dutti 16º European Ladies Championship.
